Piet Nibbelink (1954) is married to Wilma Siekman-Nibbelink. Piet has two daughters, Roosje and Eefje. Wilma has a son and a daughter, Sven and Kira.
Piet always felt a strong connection with nature. In his youth, he took horseback riding lessons for one year, sponsored by his brother. His interest in nature led him to train as a teacher of biology and physics. After teaching in the classroom for two and a half years, he made the transition into IT.
As a programmer, he realized that he found people more important than technology. He grew into the role of consultant and later became a (team) coach.
During that same period, he rediscovered his love for horses. An opportunity arose to keep a horse at home. He trained the horse himself, both under saddle and in harness. Competing in events became a challenge, but gradually the focus shifted from enjoyment to performance. After watching a video recording of Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling, he became painfully aware of the consequences this had for his relationship with his horse. This master of equine communication needed no whip, bridle, spurs, or saddle, and was able to achieve more with his horse than Piet could with all those tools.
This opened the door to more harmonious ways of working with horses. He immersed himself in these alternative approaches. Through much trial and error (both literally and figuratively), he gradually discovered that only through inner development can one gain the insights needed to truly develop feel.
Communicating with horses through body language became a bridge to accelerated inner and social growth—both in giving courses for horse enthusiasts who want to relate to their four-legged friends in a different way, and in his work as a consultant and coach.
Relearning to trust his feelings and interpreting body language (including that of people) led him to the conviction that intuition is an interpretation of unconsciously perceived body language.
In addition to his work in the field of communication, Piet is also a certified Level II Centered Riding instructor and is further developing his skills in academic dressage.
